Round up of Some of the Summer’s Most Impressive New Designer Watch Releases
September 21st, 2012One of the great things about designer wristwatches is the enthusiasm which the leading brands have for bringing out new styles and designs. Indeed, you could quite easily buy half a dozen newly released designer timepieces each year if you wanted to!
Of course, summer is a great time for new product releases and this year is no different. To be sure, many of the leading brands have been busy little beavers, releasing an abundance of new designer styles, features and colours to a very expectant market.
If you have a keen eye for new product releases then you may well have seen some of the new kids on the block for yourself. However, if your attention has been elsewhere over the summer (Team GB per chance) then you may well have missed out on the some of the key movers and shakers.
Fortunately, you can rely on us here at Watches2u to fill you in as we always make sure we have our ear to the ground.
Here are some of the releases that caught our attention:
Adidas watches
Adidas have been very busy with their watch releases this year. One of their key launches was the Limited Edition Melbourne watch, which celebrates 40 years of the Adidas trefoil logo. This beautiful timepiece really is a great testament to the company’s continuing commitment to originality, authenticity and creativity and is a fitting addition to its watch range as well as its brand as a whole. The Limited Edition watch is a direct follow up to the highly coveted Gold edition of the Melbourne model, of which only 500 were made and only 50 were released in the UK. Unsurprisingly, this model has now completely sold out; thereby illustrating how popular Adidas watches continue to be.
DKNY timepieces
In case you don’t know, the DKNY brand aims to encapsulate the fashion, architecture and culture of New York City in its products and therefore produces watches which allow consumers to go from day to night time in the blink of an eye (just like New Yoikers). To this end, DKNY have gone with the strategy that white is the new black this summer. Indeed, their range of white and classically coloured DKNY watches is already a marketing success as it fits in with the rest of their brand perfectly. DKNY also released new men’s watches this summer which are suitably masculine and befitting of the rest of the brand.
Michael Kors watches
Not to be outdone, Michael Kors released some classic pieces earlier in the season in the shape of their over-sized unisex designs, the MK8247 and the MK5605. Both of these bold timepieces feature round faces with functional detailing in yellow gold and bronze. In contrast, their MK3178 release provides more of a classic minimalist approach as it has clean fresh face which is intended to appeal to those who like their timepices to be simple affairs.
